I've used this on several different kinds of matterial, including pine (which if you've never worked with it, It is extrodinarily soft). I tried to do a plunge cut and had to turn off the tool and rush water to the scene because the wood stared smoking! once I got it through it made the most horrible screaching noise! In the end I gave up using it and bought the XPR Multisaw.
